· Floating in the mediterranean ·

Before moving to the Mediterranean I thought October is a gloomy rainy month and no fun to travel but I was WRONG! Instead it’s the opposite. The weather is warm and mild, the sun is still shinning but it doesn’t burn you!

The best part of planning a trip in October in the Mediterranean is the fact that it’s not super busy and touristic. This makes all the difference if your planning a last minute trip, as you can still book your favourite hotel and restaurant with an affordable price!

Now I want to introduce my favourite region in the Mediterranean for traveling in the month of October: The famous region of “Tuscany” in Italy!

I suggest renting a car and exploring the beautiful countryside of Tuscany as the rolling hills are absolutely gorgeous in this season. I recommend the following towns: Arezzo, San Gimignano, Siena and Lucca. In my opinion these towns are absolutely fascinating in architecture, history and fine art. I don’t need to mention that the food in Tuscany is exquisite; with their great bio products, olive oil and their famous wine the dinning will be an experience you wont forget.

Depending on your taste and your budget you can find any all kinds of accommodations in Tuscany. I recommend staying in the countryside and enjoying a true Tuscan Villa or a “Borgo” style resort.
